Recess Fitting
This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess
Width (pin) - Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement.
Height (drop) - Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the longest height measurement.
How to Measure for an Exact Fitting
Width: Measure the exact width of the area you would like the blind to overlap. To minimize light leakage we recommend that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 50mm each side.
Drop: When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting brackets, a flat surface of a minimum 50mm is required. Measure from the top of where you would like the blind to start to the bottom of where you like the blind to stop. The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.
A key point to bear in mind with a Roller Blind is that the actual width of the fabric will be 35mm less than the overall width ordered. This is to allow for the brackets and operating mechanism as per the diagram below.
Handy Hint - Always use a steel tape measure and write down your measurements in millimetres [mm] for the greatest accuracy.
